Recycled Art Work : Flowers by Kahikatea One

The children In Kahikatea One planned out their art work and collected the materials from home and school they needed to create their amazing flowers. They have used layering to create texture, mixed colours to really appeal to an audience. Come in and have a look then you can really appreciate they way they pop off the wall.

Whanau Meeting Invitation

K3's Trip to the Art Gallery

A huge thank you to all the parents and a grandparent that helped on our trip to the Art Gallery on Friday. It would not be possible to go on these trips without your continued support. The children thoroughly enjoyed viewing artist's work throughout the Gallery and painting a scene from New Zealand too.

K2's Trip to the Art Gallery

Kahikatea 2 braved the rain on Friday, to enjoy an insightful and interesting trip to the Christchurch Art Gallery.

We were treated to a walk around the Gallery looking at some of New Zealand's famous landscape paintings and the artists who painted them.  We enjoyed listening to the interesting stories that accompanied some of the paintings.

We then got to put our painting skills to the test!!  We were giving four different landscapes to choose from and we had to replicate the paintings on our own.  We loved watching our parent helpers have a go too.
